A Journal Conversation With GodI am excited to share with you a journal conversation with God. What I am about to tell you is private, just between me and God. I’m going to be vulnerable.

Now for those who don’t know me that well, since 2010 I’ve been having a conversation with God in my journal. As a result I have over 7,000 pages in my journal. In addition, I would say over 70% of the words in my journal is God speaking to me.

On account of journaling, I believe this is the #1 reason WHY I have been hearing God so clearly over the past few years. I hope you are blessed by my conversation with God. When God speaks to me in my journal, I use ” ” marks and when I speak I use (  ).

What Is Not Working

“Now lets talk about what is NOT working for you. Go ahead. (Isolation) I agree. That is rooted in fear. Yes you have much to do with ATW but you must get out each day and socialize. You know that works and isolation does not. You will have many that would love to get together with you. Watch and see. This Life Group will help too. (I agree)

What else is not working? (Wasting time on the Internet) Enough said. What else? (Meaningless conversation) So be more intentional. Don’t just talk to talk. Be intentional. Be more open and transparent. (Help me) I am. That is what this group is about. (Thank You)

What else is not working? (Ignoring others and problems that need solutions) Why ignore others? I don’t. (Fear) I know. Change it to love. Make others feel loved and appreciated and that they are valuable. You do it already but do it with everyone. (Help me) I am. Why have you ignored problems? You know they exist. You know I have the solutions to them. Ask Me for the solutions. (Daddy will You give me YOUR solutions and answers to my problems?) I am now. (Thank You)

This is extremely helpful Jeffrey especially when you follow through on what I am revealing to you. (I agree) Wasting time checking emails several times a day is NOT working for you. Twice a day. That works. Don’t look again till this afternoon when you give Words. Then you are done for the day. (OK) I mean it . Same with FB. Post and get off and stay off unless you are posting when I tell you to. (Yes Daddy)

I Still Need Help

Time management. Again when you write down on the 3×5 card what I want you to do and do it, then your life will be much more productive. Some things may only take a few minutes. Others will take hours. Do your best. NOT doing your best has NOT worked for you either. Why is that?

(Honestly I am not sure what MY BEST is) I’ll tell you. Do it and I will tell you if it is or not. (Thank You) That’s how you will know. (Amen) (Not having a schedule is NOT working for me. Excuses and fears are NOT working for me)

Lets talk about fears. Why be afraid in the first place? Think about it. You know they are rooted in lies. You want to live in the Truth and Love. Both will eliminate, yes eliminate the lies and fears. So why live with them? (Honestly I want to be free from them. I have had them most of my life. YOUR will is for me to be free from them. I don’t know how to live without them to be honest with YOU) That is a fact.”

First of all, I am not sure why God wanted me to share this specific journal entry. Maybe to teach you a lesson. Possibly to understand what I have gone through in my life. Finally I hope you were blessed by what my conversation with God in my journal.

What did you LEARN from my journal conversation with God?

Jeffrey, thank you for being vulnerable and sharing this piece from your journal. It’s easy to see someone flowing in their spiritual gifts in public and believe that he or she is already past issues that are so common like fear, procrastination, and managing one’s time. But your post reminded me of how we believers in Christ are fallible. It doesn’t matter how close of a relationship with God we cultivate, how far along we are in our spiritual growth, or how much influence we appear to have in public. Apart from Jesus we can do nothing.

I like that the way God speaks to you is casual and conversational in tone. Also, I noticed he talks a lot more than you do! I thought it was hilarious when you told him that you waste too much time on the Internet, and his response was, “Enough said,” then he moved on. LOL

I should really make an effort to journal regularly. My issue is that I lack consistency and that I write a lot (I use pen and paper not a Word Document).

You’re welcome. I am getting used to being more transparent. I do listen a lot when I journal with God. He does have a great sense of humor. The more you journal, the more you will WANT to journal with God.

My God! I am in tears! I have many journals where I also have conversation with God! Because of busyness, Internet, emails, mindless talk….I felt like I have drifted away from one of me and my Father’s intimate ways of communication. Fears of success, failure has crept in due to past hurts with people….it tries to bring me into an isolation…..if I didn’t own a business….I probably wouldn’t deal with people much….I didn’t use to be like this. I do go to a Life Group and it helps tremendously! Wow….this entry was just for me! I miss this with Father….
I felt the Holy Spirit reading this entry. Keep being obedient Jeffery….will meet you soon brother in person

Thanks so much for sharing. Hopefully this encourages you to make journaling a habit that you know will be so pleasing to the Father.

I believe you had to share this because we all share in the “lack of time” syndrome. We all want to be our best to represent our Creator. His Love and patience really shows through this letter! I don’t journal very often at all. Maybe I should!

I believe when you journal for 30 days, your relationship with God will never be the same. You’ll receive so much revelation from Him.
