What You Can Expect From God In This NEW Season

Do you want to know what you can expect from God in this new season of your life? As you enter into this brand new season of your life, expect ONLY what God wants you to expect.

In 2 Corinthians 5:17, the Lord tells you, ” Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” What does that mean?

If you are a follower of Jesus Christ, you can expect from God that the new has arrived in your life. You may be at a place where all you see and hear is THE SAME. You can get stuck in a place called THE SAME. The great news is, this next new season for you is FULL of God’s NEWS. (Not like you read in the newspaper)

The past few months have been a preparation time for you. If you didn’t know for what, now you do. Its about the NEW that God has for you. As you continue to pursue God, you will know exactly what you can expect from Him.

WHAT TIME IS IT?

First of all, what you need to do is let go of the old. You have had old thought patterns, old beliefs and old expectations. You need to forsake them and leave them in your past. It starts with you making that decision right now. Are you going to let go of the old for the new?

One day the Lord showed me a great illustration how to let go of the old for His new.

When we hold onto the old, its like having a closed fist. Many times we don’t know how else to live because we have been living this way most of our lives. But when you want the new, you open up your closed fist to RELEASE the old and ALLOW the new to come into your life. Its time for you to open up.

Why would you hold onto the old when you can experience the new?

When you do, then you WILL let go of the same old way of living. It also sets you up big time for what you can expect from God in this new season. Is this something you are willing to do for God?

BUT HOW?

Once you make the decision to let go, then what do you do next? Your words are going to play a crucial role in expecting what God wants you to expect from now on in your life. Imagine from this day forward,  every word you speak comes to pass.

Why not ONLY say what God wants you to say?

Ask the Lord to make you more aware of what you are saying out loud. You’ll be amazed at how quickly you will want to change what comes out of your mouth because you truly want what God wants in this new season of your life.

When you change what you say, you obviously are changing what you are hearing. What you hear helps you change your beliefs about your life as well as your outlook on your future.

You know your beliefs need to change to enter into all of God’s News for you. It can be as simple as choosing to believe what God has already told you. Instead of the “What about’s” or “Yeah but’s”, you can be free from using these EXCUSE PHRASES in your life.

I like the definition the Lord gave me for excuses. He said,

“Excuses are just lies in disguise.”

Ponder that for a moment. Lies are at the core of excuses. You can can choose to lean on your excuses like a crutch or believe the Truth.  The Bible tells you, “For I can do everything God asks me to with the help of Christ who gives me strength and power.” You know what that means? Now its time to replace the excuses with the Truth.

WHAT DOES GOD PROMISE YOU?

In order for you to move from the “old mindset”, you need to discover what God has ALREADY promised you in His Word. I love studying the Bible and asking God to show me something new in a verse. He does every time.

God has so many precious promises for you to believe in so you can know what He expects you to experience in this new season. What I like about God’s Promises is that they are THE TRUTH. Plus God promises in His Scriptures that He can NEVER LIE. The good news is He only tells you The Truth.

Ask the Lord what promises He wants you to meditate on each day. The word meditate means to mutter, speak or imagine. Once He gives you the Scripture verses to meditate on, then imagine what your new life will look like. I believe its best to mutter loud enough where you can hear God’s promises for your life.

Its time for you move ahead. Now its only going to happen when you know what to expect from God is this new season. Finally, seek Him in prayer each day and ask Him specifically what your new life really looks like from His perspective.
